Kinder Konfidence

Kindergarten Konfidence is a set of activities to do with your kid in their first year of school

Build drawing skills

TODAY’S PLAY: Work on focus and build creativity through art and attention to detail.

Choose a fruit or flower you have around the house for you and your child to draw with focused attention.

Draw the outline in pencil, and ask your child to look for specific details for you to incorporate into the picture (e.g. the lines on the leaf of a flower or the triangle shape the petal makes).

Once you both feel you have truly represented the object, have your child do the outline in black pen, then color in the shape with crayons, markers, or paint.

Why This Matters

Encourage your child's interests

"You can't program a child to become creative. Try to engineer a certain kind of success, and the best you'll get is an ambitious robot. If you want your children to bring original ideas into the world, you need to let them pursue their passions, not yours."
