Kinder Konfidence

Kindergarten Konfidence is a set of activities to help prepare your child for school

Associating words with emotions

TODAY'S PLAY:The perfect way to get your kid to the dinner table? Let them know they'll get to play with their food by making faces out of what's for dinner!

PREP:

Ask your child to sit with you at the dinner table and ask them to be creative within the space of their plate or bowl. Let them know you'd like to see them create different faces for the feelings you ask about.

PLAY:

Ask your child to make a happy face. Perhaps ask them how they would change the face to show anger or sadness. You can also use this exercise as a way to talk about the way these feelings feel and the last time you or your child felt that way.

Why This Matters

Does your child share well?

"Children who were more likely to “share” or “be helpful” in kindergarten were also more likely to obtain higher education and hold full-time jobs nearly two decades later"
